DENMARK DONATION DELIGHT

Minister for Regional Development, Hon Jon Ford MLC delighted Denmark residents today by presenting a donation from the state government in the sum of A$16,000 that will be invested towards the sustainable future of the local community.

Minister Ford visited the Shire of Denmark whilst in the region as part of regional Cabinet meetings. The A$16,000 donation is a valued contribution towards a local initiative, Denmark Community’s Future.

Denmark Community’s Future has been established in partnership with the Western Australian Community Foundation to promote and support community and voluntary activities, with a vision for a bright and prosperous Denmark.

Stimulating and sustaining a dynamic, philanthropic culture amongst the Denmark community and business members is at the heart of Denmark Community’s Future.

Jon Ford discusses the next stages in
Denmark’s Community’s Future
with Dr. Gill Sellar (DCFF member)

The first of its kind in the state, Western Australian Community Foundation is an independent, charitable organisation created to build stronger communities in WA. It does this by helping to build, grow and distribute endowed funds, providing a unique opportunity for communities to achieve long-term sustainability.

As Trustee, the Western Australian Community Foundation is the umbrella organisation for WA communities to benefit from philanthropy, without the burden of administration and governance responsibilities.

“This donation to Denmark Community’s Future will help secure the sustainable future of our community,” said Dr Gillian Sellar, local advisory committee member.

“All gifts, large and small, will be invested, along with any future contributions, with a portion of the income earned being made available through a grants program to the Denmark community.”

“This is our chance to contribute to the social, cultural and economic well-being of our community now and into the future.”
